And so this happened…

Inspired by THE BIG ANXIETY Festival in Brisbane in March, 2022, ART(co)LAB’s founder, Skye Rogers, is excited to present ART (co) LAB to the Melbourne (NAARM) BIG ANXIETY forum.

‘Art Therapy exists precisely in the space where the arts and mental health collide, or should I say…dance.…I felt we needed to get the message out there at festivals like this as to how powerful the art therapies can be for positive mental health outcomes.’

‘I had such strong responses to many of the events at this amazing forum. I would love to have had the opportunity to express some of that on the page or through making something in the immediacy of the moment.’

After confirming with the festival founders that there might indeed be room for a dedicated art space at the next event, Skye gathered some talented and like-minded art therapists to collaborate with her for the October 2022 THE BIG ANXIETY.

So it is that a small, dynamic team of professionally trained art therapists will facilitate art engagements at the festival, brought together by ART(co)LAB. Though we will not strictly be offering formal art therapy per-se, we will provide a creative ‘breathing space’; a place to reflect, process and centre yourself. We also hope to engage and inform about what art therapy is - and isn’t.

Our team are keen to share what so many artists know to be inherently true: art makes a difference. It heals, revives, repairs, informs.

Our art therapist collaborators are waiting to meet you!

Come see us in NAARM October 6/7, 2022 https://www.thebiganxiety.org
